BetMGM Announces New Jersey Betting Option with 2 Poker Series

By Lou Monaco

New Jersey betting options have expanded a bit this month with the announcement two new poker series.

Online casino poker players in the Garden State now have Partypoker US Network’s Cheap Stakes and New Year Knockout Weekend.

Both were announced by BetMGM on Thursday.

Cheap Stakes is a low-stakes tournament series, featuring daily buy-ins of $20 and $50. It runs from Dec. 17-26.

That will be followed by New Year Knockout Weekend, a tournament series built solely around progressive knockout bounty events. That runs from Dec. 29 through Jan. 2, 2022.

On Monday, Poker Stars unveiled another event on the New Jersey poker calendar, which runs from now until Dec. 30.

Cheap Stakes and New Year Knockout weekend will run across all three of partypoker US Network’s live markets in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

“We’re thrilled to roll this out for the first time across all of our live markets,” Luke Staudenmaier, director of poker for BetMGM, said in a press release. “Cheap Stakes provides low-stakes players a chance at great prizing on the heels of last month’s End Boss series, during which we hosted events with higher stakes across the board.

“Just after that wraps up, New Year Knockout Weekend helps end this year and ring in the new one with a celebration of one of the most entertaining formats in poker.”

The poker games can be played in New Jersey through BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker and partypoker NJ.

Starting as low as $2, there also will be a variety of tournament qualifiers and satellites for players to win their way into both events. Guarantees vary by state.

The complete schedule of events for both are below (all times Eastern).
