Fubo Sportsbook App Going Live This Fall To Sync With FuboTV
By Lou Monaco

FuboTV previewed its Fubo Sportsbook app earlier this week during the release of its Q2 2021 revenue report, which shows for the first time how the app syncs with what consumers are watching live on fuboTV.

Expected to go live in Q4 of this year, the online sports betting app has already secured an access agreement in New Jersey, along with Indiana, Iowa and Pennsylvania.

Plan For The App

In its shareholder letter for wagering and interactivity, fuboTV reiterated what its purpose and intent will be in debuting its sportsbook app later this year:

“We are building Fubo Sportsbook to be a holistic and hyper-personalized betting experience reflecting what the user is watching on fuboTV at that very moment. We’re excited to preview for the first time today how the Fubo Sportsbook app will immediately and in real-time update with relevant bets based on what the user is watching — even as they change the channel to a new game.

“This invisible connection between streaming video and our mobile betting app is a feature we believe only fuboTV can bring to market. We expect to roll out continued product advancements to enhance the customer journey.

“With our sportsbook, we are focused on becoming an emerging player across those states within which we will operate and establishing and growing our market share in those regions over time.”

Revenues Up

FuboTV delivered a strong second quarter 2021 (ending June 30) with triple digit year-over-year growth in total paid subscribers (up 138% year-over-year to 681,721, including 91,291 net subscriber additions in the quarter), total revenue (up 196% year-over-year to $130.9 million) and advertising revenue (up 281% year-over-year to $16.5 million).

Earlier this year, the company announced agreements with NBA and Major League Baseball to become an “Authorized Gaming Operator” of each league.
