The long holiday weekend proved to be prosperous for one New Jersey man.

Frank Nagy, a longtime Tropicana Casino customer, became an instant millionaire on Saturday afternoon when he hit a $1.1 million MEGA jackpot on a progressive poker game after placing a $5 wager at Tropicana Atlantic City over Presidents’ Day weekend.

After his huge win, Nagy, a Monmouth County resident, offered a $50,000 tip to the dealers on shift.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this huge win with one of our longtime customers at Tropicana,” Steve Callender, regional president for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City, said in the announcement. “This weekend’s MEGA jackpot is the latest example of the power of Caesars Rewards and our portfolio of resorts in the market, offering guests more ways to earn and redeem rewards — and win — in Atlantic City.”

The win is the largest MEGA jackpot on a progressive poker game in Caesars Entertainment’s history. The last time the jackpot hit was Aug. 5, 2019, for $187,000.

Launched in December 2016, the multi-link progressive has now been hit 13 times since it began.

In order to be eligible, guests had to try their luck on a progressive game at Tropicana, Caesars, or Harrah’s Resort, which includes Four Card Poker, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Mississippi Stud Poker, and Texas Hold’em Poker, located in each casino’s table games section.
