New Jersey Sports Betting Deal Announced by NHL Devils, Betway
By Lou Monaco

Malta-based Betway announced a new multi-year partnership in New Jersey sports betting by teaming with the New Jersey Devils to become an official partner of the Newark-based NHL franchise.

The deal, announced Nov. 19, came nine days after another Betway partnership was announced with the Philadelphia Flyers and is the third one with an NHL team (also the New York Islanders).

Betway NJ will receive brand exposure and TV-visible signage throughout the home of the Devils, the Prudential Center, including the dasherboard, Zamboni tunnel, in-bowl staircases, in-bowl LED ring and scoreboard advertising.

“We’re very excited to be adding the New Jersey Devils to our existing North American sports sponsorship portfolio,” Betway CEO Anthony Werkman said in a news release. “Our partnership with the Devils will give us great exposure via the extensive list of marketing rights, which will enable us to showcase our products to customers in New Jersey.”

Social Media Presence in Betway Deal

Betway also will become the New Jersey sports betting presenting partner of the “Devils Starting Line-Up, presented by Betway,” a social post series supported and promoted across all New Jersey Devils social media platforms.

“We are thrilled that Betway has selected the New Jersey Devils to continue their global campaign to connect and engage with the most dedicated fans across the NHL and sport,” said Adam Cross, senior vice president of Global Partnerships for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and the New Jersey Devils.

“The New Jersey sports fan continues to be savvy, aware and engaged with sports betting opportunities; and we are pleased to introduce them to Betway’s unique platform, featuring some of the most entertaining wagers and competitive odds available today.”

New Jersey Sports Betting Soars

For the second straight month, New Jersey set a sports betting handle record for the U.S. market, posting $1.3 billion in total handle for October. That easily shattered the previous record it set in September (just over $1 billion). It is the only state to register $1 billion in total handle in a month and it has done it in consecutive months.

Mobile sports betting represented a 90.5% share ($1.18 billion) of the total New Jersey market in October, which should bode well for those wanting to place Betway wagers inside the Devils' home arena.

New Jersey records were also in October for sports betting revenue ($84.2 million) and for NJ online casino revenue ($127 million).

Nearly every state with legal online sports betting has been setting records in recent months because of NFL and college football starting in September, and the NHL and NBA beginning their seasons in October.

NJ Betting Division Odds for Devils

The Devils (8-5-3, 19 points) are 5-3-1 at home. They currently are tied with the Flyers for fourth place in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Confefrence.

Fans of NJ NHL sports betting can find good odds at different betting sites in New Jersey.

The Devils are +4000 to win the Metropolitan on DraftKings NJ and +3100 on FanDuel.

The Devils host the Minnesota Wild (11-6-1) Wednesday at 7 p.m.
