NJ Sportsbooks are Gearing Up for Return of March Madness

With Gov. Phil Murphy increasing capacity to 50% at casinos, bars and restaurants in New Jersey beginning March 19 and the second day of the men's NCAA Basketball Tournament arriving that afternoon, Atlantic City casinos are ready to welcome college basketball fans and bettors with open arms.

With the new capacity limits and March Madness about to begin, a new survey offered even more positive news for the casinos and sportsbooks. The survey by the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism at Stockton University in Galloway, released this week, showed that more than 70% percent of the respondents plan to visit Atlantic City within the next six months.

The 2020 NCAA Tournament was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Below is a list of what several Atlantic City casinos and sportsbooks are offering for the return of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament for their guests in New Jersey:

FanDuel’s new, permanent location opened March 12 and is located by the northern boardwalk casino entrance. As customers enter, they will be greeted by two large video walls and multiple betting kiosks.

CHECK OUT: Some normalcy in Atlantic City

The inside of the sportsbook features a 25-foot-wide state-of-the-art LED video wall, flanked by two 10-foot-wide LED video walls on either side and 10 video displays. Fans can place sports wagers at five betting windows or use one of 20 self-serve betting kiosks.

Borgata will be the only casino in Atlantic City to offer three different venues to watch and wager on the college basketball tournament. In addition to the BetMGM Sportsbook and Bar and the Race and Sportsbook, the casino will be opening up the Event Center (its larger concert venue) for the first four days of the tournament.

Games will be displayed on 10-foot screens within the Event Center and cashier stations will be there, so you can wager on all the games and other events. Bars will be inside the venue as well. The sportsbooks will be open at 9 a.m. daily and the Event Center will open at 10 a.m.

VSIN will be broadcasting live on-site on March 19 from 12-2 p.m., Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and on Monday from 12-2 p.m.

Reservations are encouraged by calling 609-317-7900.

The William Hill Sportsbook at The Wild Wild West offers 15,228 square feet of sports betting space with a variety of drink specials, including themed cocktails.

Golden Nugget

Located off the Main Atrium, the Sportsbook at Golden Nugget has more than 50 TVs, five video walls, self-service betting kiosks and limited capacity seating. Food and drink specials will be offered.

Hard Rock

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Sportsbook is located at the north end of the casino, just adjacent to Sugar Factory. Attached to the sportsbook is an all-new Sports Bar with more than 40 TVs to watch the games and six betting stations are available.

Another William Hill Sportsbook to visit while watching hoops at The Shore. The sportsbook takes up 3,800 square feet and includes LED TVs and plush seating. It will also offer drink specials.

Additionally, guests can reserve their stadium seating, starting at $60, and Fan Caves for $500.

Ocean Casino Resort

The Madness Zone at Ocean will have three locations for reserve seating: William Hill Sportsbook (7,500 square feet, 25 screens), Topgolf Swing Suite (26 screens) and The Den (8,000 square feet featuring more than 20 screens).

Ticketed reservations are sold as Full-Day or Half-Day (Full-Day ticket valid 11 a.m.-11:30 p.m.; Half-Day ticket 11 a.m.-5 p.m. or 5:30-11:30 p.m.).

It’s March Mania at Resorts and fans can watch the tournament throughout the casino, place bets at DraftKings Sportsbook (five betting windows, 18 kiosks), enjoy drink specials and play Spin the Wheel & Score for prizes.

Guests can also enjoy the tournament from the comfort of their hotel rooms with the March Mania Special Room Package. The package includes an overnight stay, a $40 dining credit, $25 table game free bet, a DraftKings T-shirt and a 2 p.m. late checkout. The room rate is $129 and valid for stays booked for March 15-18. Guests can book online or call 609-340-6300 and mention code SMARMDN.

Drink specials will be available throughout the property on March 19 from 3-9 p.m. All-Star Card members will get the chance to Spin the Wheel & Score for free and win prizes. Guests must visit the in-house promotions booth to register.

Make an entire weekend out of celebrating the return of March Madness with rooms starting at $57; guests can enjoy an overnight stay, a William Hill sportsbook and drink specials.
