Another avenue of gambling was announced Friday by Poker Stars when it unveiled its Bounty Builder tournaments for New Jersey poker players.

The 2022 series is set to kick off Friday and run thru May 23 with 135 progressive knockout tournaments scheduled across the Garden State, as well as in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The online series will have more than $2 million guaranteed across the three states, with $500,000 in New Jersey. Pennsylvania will boast a $1 million prize pool and Michigan has a guarantee of $700,000.

The main events will begin May 22. All main events will have $300 buy-ins. The rest of the series will have buy-ins that range from as little as $5 up to $1,000, allowing players of all abilities to get involved.

Poker Stars is coming off its Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), which was held March 25-April 11, with a guarantee combined total of more than $4.5 million in prizes across New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Those three states are among the few in which you can play online poker legally. You also can do so in Delaware, West Virginia and Nevada.

PokerStars also held a successful Winter Series that started in January.

April New Jersey Handle Near Due

The Garden State, no doubt buoyed by March Madness college basketball, was back above the $1 billion mark in sports betting in March. Its handle of $1.12 billion was a 13.7% increase from February’s $985.7 million and 30.4% better than March 2021.

New Jersey has topped the astounding $1 billion mark in six of the last seven months.

Let’s see what April brings.
