Poker Stars Brings New Bounty Builder Series to New Jersey

New Jersey betting has no shortage of options this time of year.

Another avenue of gambling was announced Friday by Poker Stars when it unveiled its Bounty Builder tournaments for New Jersey poker players.

The 2022 series is set to kick off Friday and run thru May 23 with 135 progressive knockout tournaments scheduled across the Garden State, as well as in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The online series will have more than $2 million guaranteed across the three states, with $500,000 in New Jersey. Pennsylvania will boast a $1 million prize pool and Michigan has a guarantee of $700,000.

The main events will begin May 22. All main events will have $300 buy-ins. The rest of the series will have buy-ins that range from as little as $5 up to $1,000, allowing players of all abilities to get involved.

Breaking Down Key Features of Bounty Builder

Highlights of the series include:

  • PokerStars trophies: Six trophies will be awarded in each state. Five will be awarded in trophy events and a new series trophy for the overall leaderboard winner.
  • Bounty Leaderboards: Cash prizes will be awarded to those players who win the largest number of bounties across each state.
  • High Rollers: A $1,000 high roller event in each state.
  • Free Bounty: A $5 tournament in which every player gets a free $1 bounty added by PokerStars.
  • Freerolls: Players will receive a ticket to freeroll on May 21, awarding tickets to the new Hybrid Satellite and the Main Event.
  • Hybrid Satellite: A debut for the 2022 series. A number of seats will be awarded to the Main Event in each state, giving players a second chance to win a seat from the freeroll, in addition to win cash prizes.
  • Variety: With the return of Last Man Standing and Mini Bounties, to new debuts such as Bounty Adrenaline and Win the Button PKO, there’s plenty of variety for players to participate in.

Recent Poker Star Tourneys

Poker Stars is coming off its Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), which was held March 25-April 11, with a guarantee combined total of more than $4.5 million in prizes across New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Those three states are among the few in which you can play online poker legally. You also can do so in Delaware, West Virginia and Nevada.

PokerStars also held a successful Winter Series that started in January.

April New Jersey Handle Near Due

The Garden State, no doubt buoyed by March Madness college basketball, was back above the $1 billion mark in sports betting in March. Its handle of $1.12 billion was a 13.7% increase from February’s $985.7 million and 30.4% better than March 2021.

New Jersey has topped the astounding $1 billion mark in six of the last seven months.
